Our Cyclosert™ and RONDEL™ technologies were developed in the laboratory of Dr. Mark Davis at the California Institute of Technology (“Caltech”), and have been licensed exclusively to Calando Pharmaceuticals for worldwide use.  To date, we have six issued United States patents and sixteen foreign patents (to go to a listing of patents, click here) .  We have filed or exclusively licensed numerous other patent applications with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), as well as foreign counterparts of some of these applications in Europe, Japan and other countries.

In addition to the issued patents and applications covering the technology licensed from Caltech, Calando has filed a number of additional applications covering new formulations of polymeric forms of our drug delivery system, new methods and routes of administration, and their use in connection with the delivery of small-molecule drugs and macromolecular therapeutics.

Calando also has significant and growing intellectual property assets related to RNAi technologies, including compositions of matter, methods of use, manufacturing and purification processes and routes of delivery.  Calando has filed or exclusively licensed a broad suite of US patents and patent applications for development and delivery of RNAi therapeutics, with counterparts filed in Europe, Japan and other key countries. We have, to our knowledge, the earliest priority date on a very broad patent application covering methods and compositions for therapeutic delivery and use of RNAi.
